Ellen Hopkins is one of my favorite authors because she writes about teens going through mental health issues and dealing with the social pressures that today's society puts on us. Rumble is no different. It discusses themes of religion and suicide, more importantly how a suicide can affect the religious beliefs of an individual. The protagonist, Matthew (Matt) is dealing with the loss of his brother to suicide and begins to cause worry fo the adults in his life when writes an essay ridiculing the existence of God. This book was SO good and it was written in verse which made it a quick but impactful read.
