The book I read this month by an Asian author was Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. This book is a collection of poetry describing Kaur's experiences growing up to being an adult. It explores the themes of love, loss, abuse, and femininity. The book is divided into four sections in which readers are told Kaur's personal truths and displays how she overcomes obstacles within each section. I really enjoyed how the book was divided reflecting different stages in life. I felt this really represented the ways life actually is where you will get to certain stages and not know what to do. Overall I recommend this to those who enjoy poetry and want to reflect on their own lives. Rupi Kaur has other books such as The Sun and Her Flowers which is written in a similar way as this book and is a sequel to this book.
