Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

The book I read was Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. It follows the story of Alina Starkov as she realizes she has rare powers that could possibly save her country. Overall, it has an interesting female protagonist that [for once] doesn't constantly reject the common ideals of femininity and gives into her desires. Furthermore, she wrote Six of Crows which takes place in the same universe and follows the "crows" as they perform an impossible heist.
